NBA Finals – Only two teams remain in the NBA playoffs. Dallas and Miami open the best of 7 championship series Tuesday night. The big question everyone’s asking? Who will get a ring first Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki or Miami’s LeBron James? An ESPN poll shows that LeBron James isn’t as popular with fans as he was a year ago. It just goes to show that fans have a love-hate relationship with the Miami Heat mostly because of “The Decision” LeBron made last August to join Miami in a nationally televised special. How do you feel about LeBron?
NHL Finals – The Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins will play for the Stanley Cup Trophy. The best of 7 series starts Wednesday in Vancouver. Canadians consider the Stanley Cup a national treasure but it hasn’t been won by a Canadian team since 1993. The Bruins were one of the original 6 NHL teams. They’ve got a lot of history but it’s been 39 years since the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. Who are you rooting for? How many games will it take to decide the champion?
MLB – Chicago White Sox manger Ozzie Guillen blasted fans – again. He’s an emotional manager who on occasion loses his mind during interviews. Over the weekend he lashed out at fans criticizing the White Sox performance. His comments are always worth a read. It certainly wears his heart on his sleeve and cares about the game. Do you agree with the way he handled the situation? Is it good to show that much emotion or do you expect something different from a manager?
NFL Lockout –Friday is a big day for the NFL players, owners and fans. That’s when a judge will hear arguments on the legality of the lockout. There’s a chance it could be lifted, but both sides still have a lot to work out. Has your opinion of the lockout changed the longer it’s gone on? Are you nervous over the state of the league right now?
College Football – Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel resigned Monday amid mounting NCAA violations. The university had already suspended him for 5 games due to his knowledge of player violations that went unreported. What does the NCAA need to do, to clean up the program? Does the NCAA need to change the way they handle student athletes?
Indy 500 – A rookie mistake cost J.R. Hildeband a win at the Indy 500 Sunday. He skidded into the outside wall on the home stretch of the race. Hildebrand skidded across the finish line while Dan Wheldon passed him in the final seconds to win. It was an exciting finish to a race that’s lost viewership ratings in the last few years. French Open – Novak Djokovic’s unbeaten streak is still intact at the French Open. He has won 43 straight matches overall and could face 16 time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer next. What do you think of the streak? How impressive is that to you?
